Welcome to the SiteSearch Homepage.
SiteSearch is a freeware CGI script allowing you to add keyword
search facilities to your web site. See the script in action on our
software homepage.
Features:
- Keyword searching of words or "" enclosed phrases on your web pages.
- + and - prefixes supported allowing words/phrases to
be required or excluded from the match list.
- Links are ordered by confidence.
- Links are displayed in blocks of 10, with a "view next 10 hits" link provided
on the returned page.
- Start file may be passed to script, which will then follow all links on that
page. This allows "Search entire site" or "Just search this section" operation.
- Accurate text searching- HTML tags and JavaScript on the page is ignored.
Requirements:
- Web Server with CGI directory, the server must support Perl CGI scripts.
- Sitesearch has been tested on UNIX and NT.
Limitations:
- Sitesearch does not index the web site, use therefore on sites of
more than a few hundred pages is impractical (it'll take ages to do the search).
- Sitesearch can only search files in a single directory on your web server.
